Luck and Skill

Today was basically luck and skill. Luck because you cant spot the fish and have to do blind casting. Skill because you have to work the frog properly.

Patience required

Was about to leave when i saw it's head stick out for a breath of air, followed by its fireball. Right there and then, I decided that either the father or the mother had to be mine.. After about 4-5 casts, BAM! Either one whacked it and brought it down into the weeds, missing the hooks completely. After that, they werent interested in the Spro frog I had at the end of my line.
If you look closely in the picture above, in the center, you can see the Common Snakehead raising for air, totally ignoring my frog. I changed up to another frog but it still did not want to take it. There was one point where the Hauran came right behind my lure! He totally did not want to eat it! Its mouth was almost touching the frog! He just came to scare the frog away from its young i guess.

After and hour, I came up with a way of getting the parents to bite. I had to cast straight down at where they were creating a splash, disturbing their young. First time, it came up right behind it and went back down. Second time, BOM! ANNIHILATION! It went through the thick thick weeds and i had a hard time pulling it to shore! Patience pays off.

Spro King Daddy Bronzeye

90mm 1oz. This big boy should be able to cast far out, reaching to swirls created by breathing Giant Snakeheads!
The name says it all. It's the biggest frog lure I have ever seen! But I guess, Big Lures Catch Big Fish! Hopefully this Thursday i can go fishing and catch a biggie with it :)
